(me lo stavo chiedendo pensando a quanti incentivi hanno le aziende per far scaricare i pacchi al punto ritiro e fregarsene anziché fare il servizio per cui vengono pagati)
in realtà no, non c'è un fisso, ma veniamo pagati a cottimo. Ogni pacco viene risarcito (il prezzo dipende dal corriere e dal servizio) anzi, spesso il fisso c'è, ma è per noi; ovvero dobbiamo pagare un fisso annuale per poter avere il servizio. Ovviamente ai corrieri conviene perché recapitare quanti più pacchi possibili ai punti di ritiro, per loro è un risparmio di tempo, chilometri e logistica. Quindi posso abbassare i prezzi al pubblico. @rapitadaglialieni

I'm making myself a pair of lacing strips to use when fitting in-progress corsets: the corsets themselves will usually have eyelets every 2 cm, should I also put eyelets at the same distance on the lacing strips for accuracy, or do you usually make them with less eyelets?

the same. However one corsetiere taught me a useful trick: to make a pair of test lacing panels you can reuse on each mock up. The length doesn't need to match exactly, but it's a quick way of testing fit without making a whole new lacing panel each time.

Gustavino Bevilacqua no real need for a machine that does that, with typical corsets (front busk opening, back laces for adjustments) you only lace them once, it takes maybe 10 minutes — if like me you can't recognize your left from your right — and then you only have to pull on the strings in the right places to make them tighter or looser

project “making a corset in anger” is very slowly proceeding: I've adjusted and printed the pattern, and marked and cut 5 panels out of 12 in a grey herringbone coutil.
I still have to decide which boning I want to use, and how to make the boning channels: maybe later this afternoon I'll climb¹ to where I keep the corsetry materials and decide.
Oh, and this one is going to be sewn by machine. Shocking, I know :D
The week before this one was quite productive on the victorian vampire shirt, and the front, yoke and back were almost done, except for adding the collar. And then this morning I woke up realizing that I had attached the front wrong, and the front slit would have gaped open. One side has already been unpicked and resewn correctly, the other side is ready to be done as well. And then I should start working on the sleeves (as opposed to hemming the wrist ruffles, because I didn't want to have to think, only sew).
And then there are the slippers. Or rather the second pair of soles I wanted to do *now*, to repair the old ones, so that the next time the ones in use break down I already have a new pair ready. Those. Yeah, I'm thinking about working on them. (and also on the second pair of hiking slippers I'll probably need, but don't have a real deadline for. but a deadline may spring on myself with little advance warning, and I should be ready for it)
And then this week I've also dug up the pattern for the corset cover I made ages ago, and started to bring it up to date so that I can make a new one and publish the pattern on my website, that's also going well (but I probably won't start sewing it until I've finished the corset).
¹ because of course the *heavy* box full of steel is “temporarily” on the top shelf
Il progetto “corsetto in preda all'ira” procede lentamente: ho sistemato il cartamodello, segnato e tagliato 5 pannelli su 12 in coutil spigato grigio.
Devo ancora decidere che stecche usare e come fare le relative canaline: magari oggi pomeriggio mi arrampicherò¹ a prendere i materiali per corsetti per decidere.
E questo verrà cucito a macchina. Inaudito, lo so :D
Settimana scorsa è stata abbastanza produttiva per la camicia da vampiro vittoriano, e avevo quasi finito davanti, dietro e sprone, mancava finire di attaccare il colletto. E stamattina mi sono svegliata rendendomi conto di aver attaccato il davanti allo sprone nel modo sbagliato, e che l'apertura sul davanti sarebbe rimasta aperta. Un lato è già stato scucito e ricucito nel modo giusto, e l'altro è pronto per subire lo stesso trattamento. E poi dovrò iniziare a lavorare alle maniche (contrapposto a fare l'orlo ai volant da mettere sui polsini, perché non avevo voglia di pensare, ma solo di cucire).
E poi ci sono le pantofole. O meglio il secondo paio di suole che volevo fare *ora*, per riparare quelle vecchie, in modo che la prossima volta che si rompono quelle che ho in uso io ne abbia subito un paio di scorta. Quelle. Ecco, sto pensando intensamente a lavorarci. (e anche al secondo paio di pantofole da trekking che prima o poi mi servirà, non so ancora quando, ma il quando potrebbe saltarmi addosso con poco preavviso, e sarebbe utile farsi trovare pronti.)
E poi questa settimana ho anche riesumato il cartamodello per il copricorsetto che avevo fatto secoli fa e ho iniziato ad aggiornarlo in modo da farne uno nuovo e pubblicarlo sul mio sito. Anche questo sta andando abbastanza bene (ma non credo che inizierò a cucirlo fino a che non sarà finito il corsetto).
¹ *ovviamente* la scatola pesante piena di acciaio è “temporaneamente“ sul ripiano più alto dell'armadio

e no, non serve saldare, basta tagliare con la cosa per tagliare filo di metallo di cui non so il nome italiano O:-) e/o con il dremel, dare una limatina e crimparci le protezioni con due paia di pinze. ammetto che una levigatrice a nastro (quelle fisse, verticali) farebbe comodo (e un vedo video di gente che fa corsetti in modo professionale che la usa, ma a me non serve così spesso)
non che una saldatrice non sarebbe utile in questa casa, ma per fare altro :D
Ah quelle sono molle piatte, pensavo fossero lamine.
Quando esce di nuovo al Lidl la levigatrice a batteria con il nastro da 9 mm la segnalo (la Milwaukee costa sui 300 €…).
Altrimenti tempo fa presi una Einhell TH-US 240 (qualità tipo Lidl) che si trova a prezzi ragionevoli nei brichi, con mola a sinistra e nastro dall'altra parte, e per usi non gravosi direi che va bene.
@rag. Gustavino Bevilacqua le lamine si usano dove serve qualcosa che rimanga il più possibile dritto¹, quindi tipicamente accanto alle aperture davanti (tecnicamente una lamina con già saldata sopra la chiusura, si compra già fatta) e dietro (accanto agli occhielli in cui si fanno passare i lacci)
mentre sul resto si mettono le molle piatte, che seguono meglio le curve.
¹ tecnicamente segue la curva del corpo, ma deve rimanere perfettamente dritto sugli altri due assi
@rag. Gustavino Bevilacqua quella della Einhell (credo, non so se fosse quel modello) ogni tanto la vediamo al brico e ci pensiamo, ma son quelle cose che probabilmente non useremmo abbastanza per giustificare lo spazio occupato. almeno per ora :)
(devo dire che di power tools Einhell ne abbiamo qualcuno, e per il nostro uso molto poco professionale in cui non li si usa tutto il giorno, ma più magari una volta al mese ci troviamo decisamente bene)
@LaVi l'unica cosa che ho notato cambia tanto il risultato è che spago si usa: quando ne ho usato uno di juta che era abbastanza morbido si sono distrutte in poco tempo anche sul pavimento liscio di casa, con questo spago più ruvido e grossolano hanno retto meglio
@LaVi devo dire poi che guardando youtube.com/watch?v=CbAHMw8tpe… (Baking Vegan Slippers, dei sandali fatti di agar e sughero mi sono venute voglie di provare qualcosa del genere (ma non sembrano funzionare benissimo, e rimane il problema dell'attaccarle).
altrimenti trovando del feltro di lana *spesso* credo che qualcosa di buono si possa fare anche con quello, però temo che costicchi. (non ho fonti sottomano per del feltro di lana)
e ora che ci penso, per delle pantofole magari potrebbe bastare anche solo qualche strato di ritagli di stoffa per isolare, e una suola fatta con la pelle di daino che vendono per pulire i vetri delle auto. mumble.
@LaVi ah, poi stavo riguardando le mie pantofole fatte ai ferri e infeltrite, e in quelle avevo solo cucito sopra un pezzo di vecchio jeans come suola, da cambiare periodicamente man mano che si distrugge.
però la parte sotto della pantofola con l'uso si è bucata ed è stata rammendata, e poi ho infeltrito ad ago il rammendo per rendere la cosa uniforme.

a) this coutil is pretty soft, it's pretty easy to sew. And of course my brain is all “why are you wasting time doing this, you could be sewing it by hand and be done with it!“, but I'm resisting
b) I forgot to mark the panels with “forbid flipping” in valentina, and about half of them were flipped and I didn't realize it. Not a big deal for most of the pieces (I had to attach the ones marked left to the right half of the corset and vice versa), and the only one for which it was a problem was the facing, so I could just attach it with the wrong side of the fabric showing and it's not a problem either, since it's on the inside of the corset.
a) questo coutil è abbastanza morbido e facile da cucire. E ovviamente il mio cervello è partito “perché stai sprecando tempo così? potresti cucire a mano e via!”, ma sto resistendo.
b) mi sono dimenticata di impostare “forbid flipping“ in valentina sui pannelli, e circa metà era stata stampata ribaltata e non me ne ero accorta. Per la maggior parte dei pezzi non è un grosso problema, ho solo dovuto attaccare quelli che avevo segnato come destra sulla parte sinistra del corsetto e viceversa, e l'unico per cui avrebbe potuto essere un problema andava comunque all'interno, quindi anche se si vede il rovescio della stoffa non è un problema.

There have been quite a bit of handsewing (or rather basting) moments, so the vampire shirt has stalled a bit, but I think that there will be time for it intermixed with the corset flossing.
Next week I may work on the corset cover? I've completely stopped working on it, and the pattern still need a tiny bit of refinement.
As for the slippers, we don't talk about the slippers.

I was worried that it may be a little *too* lightweight, but no, it still feels good. It did show a few wrinkles, but they came from the camisole underneath, and when I pulled that they went away (yes, this coutil is lighter than others I've used).
Before this evening I want to start making the flossing on at least one boning channel, but right now I'm still wearing the corset so I can't do that :D

I currently only have one corset that almost, but not quite fits: it's a couple cm too low on the bust level, and after a few hours it starts to hurt. On the other hand, when I start feeling bloated on my first day of the cycle, wearing a corset helps *a lot*.
So yesterday I decided “tomorrow I'm going to work on making myself a new corset”
so I headed to the directory where I expected to find my corset pattern. and it's not there.
I could find a preliminary version of the file I was working on, which I think (hope!) has all the points, but not the actual pieces. And I don't want to have to re-draw those.
And I think I've found the latest revision of the measurement files, hopefully.
And then I remembered that inside my computer there was the previous hard disk, disconnected. So today I turned the pc off, disconnected all cables, opened the computer, connected the old hard disk, reconnected most cables, turned the pc on, checked that it was actually starting the right system (it was), turned the pc off, disconnected all cables, closed it, reconnected all cables, turned the pc on, mounted the old hard disk.
And found that that hard disk was too old. and didn't have the repo I was looking for.
Then I realized in my home I had the files from my old, but not so old laptop. I found one more commit to the corset pattern. it's still not complete.
I'm still searching. there are various hard disk around the house.
(I also have at least two, dated, copies of the paper pattern, so at least I know what date I'm looking for. but they are not very useful if I want to fix the issues and publish the pattern on my website)
noi abbiamo delle cassette (se non ricordo male lunghe 80 cm) sul terrazzo con dentro piante (mirtillo e in minor misura succede alle cassette coi pomodori): da qualche giorno abbiamo iniziato a trovare delle voragini (buchi di ~10 cm di diametro) scavate nel terreno, e oggi abbiamo individuato un merlo come colpevole.
Ipotizziamo che abbia trovato qualcosa di buono e vermiforme / larviforme da mangiare
ora, la prima domanda è: fa male alle piante? oppure se rimettiamo a posto la terra quando è stata spostata possiamo stare tranquilli?
e se invece per le piante è un problema, consigli su come fermarli?
Per mia esperienza il merlo è onnivoro e tenace, germogli e la qualunque trovi sul suo cammino hanno il destino segnato. Io rimediai con reti di protezione, poi quando le piante sono adulte, qualcosa riesci a salvare.... ma con l'arrivo dei frutti ricomincia la battaglia.

Io con i pomodori in passato ho avuto problemi con la volpe: ho messo pollina sotto le piante ( con piume e tutto quello che esce dal pollaio). Il giorno dopo la volpe ha controllato ogni pianta, che non ci fosse sotterrata una gallina morta. Ora ho soltanto piante di noci che crescono dappertutto, e i tassi e ricci che non riescono a eliminare le lumache.

But then last week I had to fill a couple of forms, in public, and when I got my pen from the beg I started to feel self-conscious and start to worry that maybe normal people aren't going to realize that it's a 16 € pen and not an expensive one, while the transparent plastic of the Preppy should show its price point quite more.
And I very much don't mind being seen as *that* person (the pen snob that won't lower themselves to write with a tool that isn't perfectly selected for their tastes), but I really don't want to be seen as *that other* persn (the pen snob that won't lover themselves to write with a tool that didn't cost at least a few hundred EUR).

magari non tanto competente da distinguere un falso montblanc fatto bene, ma almeno una Plaisir su cui c'è scritto Plaisir dovrebbero sapere che non è roba rivendibile cara.
Porsi domande è sempre una buona cosa, però... siamo responsabili solo di quello che facciamo e non dei preconcetti altrui, spesso davvero folli. Io ti consiglierei di stare serena e utilizzare la tua nuova penna come e quando vuoi. Che ne sai, potrebbe accadere che qualcuno ti veda e si ricordi che ha una vecchia penna che non usa da tempo in un cassetto e magari la tira fuori! 😉
@Baylee e non so se arrivano nei megastore, ma se le si compra in cina, allo stesso prezzo, ci sono anche un sacco di cloni o quasi di Montblanc e simili penne costose
I use them at my office (I'm a lawyer) so I suppose I don't mind being pretentious, but in my experience most people, especially older people, are so excited to see it. "Oh wow, is that a fountain pen? Do you fill it with ink? Can you still buy them? I haven't seen one since school!"

This post has also been written after eating in one meal the amount of bread-like stuff that we usually have in more than 24 hours.
I’ve been baking bread since a long time ago. I don’t know exactly when, but probably it was the early 2000s or so, and remained a regular-ish thing until 2020, when it became an extremely regular thing, as in I believe I bake bread on average every other day.
In the before times, I’ve had a chance to bake pizza in a wood fired oven a few times: a friend had one and would offer the house, my partner would mind the fire, and I would get there with the dough and prepare the pizza.
Now that we have moved to a new house, we don’t have a good and convenient place for a proper wood fired oven in masonry, but we can use one of the portable ones, and having dealt with more urgent expenses, I decided that just before the potential collapse of the global economy was a good time as any to buy the oven I had been looking at since we found this house.
I decided to get an Ooni Karu 2, having heard good things about the brand, and since it looked like a good balance between size and portability. I also didn’t consider their gas fired ovens (nor did I buy the gas burner) because I’m trying to get rid of gas, not add stuff that uses it, and I didn’t get an electric one because I’m not at all unhappy with the bakery-style pizza we make in our regular oven, and I have to admit we also wanted to play with fire1.
We also needed an outdoor table suitable to use the oven on and store it. Here I looked for inspiration at the Ooni tables (and for cheaper alternatives in the same style), but my mother who shares the outdoor area with us wasn’t happy with the idea of steel2. And then I was browsing the modern viking shores, and found that there was a new piece in the NÄMMARÖ series my mother likes (and of which we already have some reclining chairs): a kitchen unit in wood with a steel top.
At first I expected to just skip the back panel, since it would be in the way when using the oven, but then I realized that it could probably be assembled upside down, down from the top between the table legs, and we decided to try that option.
This week everything had arrived, and we could try it.
Yesterday evening, after dinner (around 21, I think) I prepared the dough with the flour I usually use for bakery-style pizza: Farina di Grano Tenero Tipo 0 PANE (320 - 340 W); since I wanted to make things easier for myself I only used 55% hydration, so the recipe was:
Then this morning we assembled the NÄMMARÖ, then I divided the dough in eight balls, put them in a covered — but not sealed — container3, well floured with rice flour and then we fired the oven (as in: my partner did, I looked for a short while and then set the table and stuff), using charcoal, because we already had some, and could conveniently get more at the supermarket.
When the oven had reached temperatures in the orange range4 I stretched the smallest ball out, working on my wooden peel, sprayed it with water5, sprinkled it with coarse salt and put it in the oven.
After 30 seconds I turned it around with the new metal peel, then again after 30 seconds, and then I lost count of how many times I repeated this6, but it was probably 2 or 3 minutes until it looked good.
And it was good. The kind of pizza that is quite soft, especially near the borders.
We ate it with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, and then made another one the same way, to finish the mozzarella.
This was supposed to be our lunch, but we decided to try one with some leftover cooked radicchio, and that also worked quite nicely.
And finally, we decided we needed to try a more classical pizza, with tomato sauce and cured meat, of which we forgot to take pictures.
Up to here we had eaten about half of the dough, and we were getting full: I had prepared significantly more than what I expected to eat, to be able to accidentally burn some, but also with the idea to bake something else to be eaten later.
So I made two more focaccias with just water and salt, and then I tried to cook some bread with what I expected to be residual heat.
Except that the oven was getting a bit too cold, so my partner added some charcoal, and when I put the last two unflattened balls right at the back of the oven where it was still warmer, that side carbonized. After 5 minutes I moved them to the middle of the oven, and turned them, and then after another turn and 5 more minutes they were ready. And other than the burnt crust, they were pretty edible.
So, the thoughts after our first experience. Everybody around the table (my SO, my mother and me) was quite happy with the results, and they are different enough from the ones I could get with the regular oven.
As I should have expected, it’s much faster than a masonry oven, both in getting to temperature and in cooling down: my plan for residual heat bread cooking will have to be adjusted with experience.
We were able to get it hot enough, but not as hot as it’s supposed to be able to get: we suspect that using just charcoal may have influenced it, and next week we’ll try to get some wood, and try with a mix.
As for the recipe, dividing the dough in eight parts worked quite well: maybe the pizzas are a bit on the smaller side, but since they come one at a time it’s more convenient to cut and share them, and maybe make a couple more at the end.
Of course, I’ll want to try different recipes, for different styles of pizzas (including some almost-trademark-violating ones) and for other types of flatbread.
I expect it won’t be hard to find volunteers to help us with the experiments. :D

la suola è un po' più rognosa, perché cucire attraverso lo spago è più faticoso, ma stavolta ho riusato la suola del primo paio che avevo fatto, che dopo un giro in lavatrice era ancora abbastanza in ordine.

Uooops, yesterday I may have accidentally a pizza oven (wood fired, “portable”)
(does it count as accidentally when you have making plans about buying it for more than a year, but then hit the “buy” button today instead of “maybe this month” because of a discount on the website?)
Of course that's because I often make pizza both for our family and for friends, and I wanted to cook it at properly high temperatures, and not because I wanted to have an alternative way to cook pizza and bread in case of prolonged blackouts.
(If you already know where I live and we have already eaten together: when the oven will arrive I'll need volunteers to help me consume the pizza made while learning how to use it: I don't think it's worth firing it up for just pizza for three people.)

Most of the images in this post have no real alt-text: they are all scans of the test sheet at various stages through the test, and the results visible on them are described in detail at the end of the post.
Most of the time, what people write by hand will either end up inside a notebook in a drawer or cupboard where it’s well protected, or thrown in the recycling where it doesn’t matter. There are times, however, when things will be exposed to light: it doesn’t matter whether it’s a work of artistic calligraphy that you want to frame or a passive-aggressive notice left in the atrium of a building; it is useful to know whether the work will remain legible or it will fade into nothing in a short time.
A few inks are tested by the producers for lightfastness according to some established standard, a few others are declared lightfast in a generic way, but a lot come with no indication at all. Proper testing according to the standard scales requires significant equipment to precisely control the exposure, but it’s significantly easier — and fun — to do a simple test to divide the inks into three categories:
suitable for framed calligraphy, i.e. it looks the same after 3 months of direct sun exposure;
suitable for complaining about the way your neighbours deal with the trash, i.e. still readable after 3 months of exposure;
not suitable for either, i.e. has faded significantly in the same time.
In the past I’ve done some such tests by taping some sheets to a south-east facing window, and I’ve noticed that most of the results were already apparent after a month, and there was basically no difference between two and three months of exposure, but spring equinox to summer solstice is a nice timeframe to use for such a test (and it leaves time for a second test of different materials from summer solstice to autumn equinox), so this is what I’ve chosen to do this year.
Rather than a window, now I have access to a south-facing covered balcony that is protected from rain but receives quite a bit of direct sun, so instead of taping sheets to the windows1 I’ve prepared a sturdy cardboard panel that I can leave on a table on the balcony, hopefully safe from the rain, but well exposed to the sun.
And then made a quick test, and realized that without the window glass in front, the black strip used to cover the unexposed half of the sample doesn’t lay flat and lets some sun in, so I used an old cheap2glass frame instead of the panel.
The next step, already in January, was mentioning in a fountain-pen enthusiasts forum that I planned such a test, and asking if people were interested in having me buy a few samples of more inks when I was buying my next pen. The word “enthusiasts” is probably a hint of the reason why soon afterwards I received a package with the pen I had planned to buy, its converter, and a couple dozens ink samples. And then a couple envelopes with additional samples of inks that weren’t available on the shops, from said enthusiasts.
Added to the inks I already had acquired since the last lightfastness test, it meant that they couldn’t all fit in one single page, and thus I had some room to add some inks I had already tested: some were requests, and for others I tried to select ones that felt relevant. Since I’m changing the test setup, I’ve decided I should probably keep doing this until I’ve tested again all of the inks I still have available.
For the paper, I’ve used A4 sheets of Clairefontaine Dessin Croquis 160 g/m², one of my staples that I’m sure I will have available in the next years, printed with a dot pattern with a laser printer, using this pdf. And as for the pen I’ve used a fresh Brause n°361 nib: loading a fountain pen with all of these inks wouldn’t be a reasonable effort, and the 361 is one of the writing implements I use most anyway. I also used a glass pen to fill a couple of squares on the paper with more ink. One side of each sheet was then covered with a strip of 300 g/m² black paper (also from Clairefontaine), kept in place with three dots of non-permanent two sided tape, put in the frame and set out in the sun on the morning of 2026-03-20, the day of the spring equinox.
While I was filling the sheet for the lightfastness tests, I decided to also prepare a second set of sheet, for a liquid resistance drop test.
On each line, beside the name of the ink, I added five sets of crossing parallel lines, and let everything dry for a few days.
Then I used a syringe to put a drop of a liquid on each set of lines, waited for it to be absorbed into the paper and to dry, at least overnight, but sometimes also for a day or two (life happened), and then looked at the results and did the next test.
The first liquid was water, with the usual wild difference between washable and permanent inks, and all of the intermediate possibilities.
The second liquid was isopropyl alcohol, and I was surprised to see that, with very few exceptions, most inks didn’t change at all. I wonder whether that’s related to the fact that instead of forming a drop it was absorbed almost immediately into the paper, and dried in a very short time.
The third liquid was hydrogen peroxide: beside the individual results I noticed that its column yellowed visibly; I wonder whether that means that the paper I used has optical brighteners, and it will also yellow under the sun: that wouldn’t be ideal, but it would also be a surprise, for paper that is acid free and sold for arts.
The fourth liquid was citric acid, by mixing a bit less than a teaspoon of citric acid granules in just enough very warm water (heated to 70°C, i.e. the lowest temperature available on my kettle) to dissolve most of the acid. I forgot that I had some old PH strips until one hour after I’ve put the drop on the paper, and I don’t know whether something had changed, but when I did remember about them it showed a deep red between 1 and 2. I don’t think I can trust those strips too much, however.
This backfired badly: the drop of citric acid never dried out, but formed a sticky paste that prevented me from scanning the results, and I’m not sure whether I’ll do the last test, which was supposed to be household bleach.
Luckily I had scanned the partial results, and they are shown here.
After one full day with plenty of sun, nothing really had changed, except possibly for a vague hint that the Herbin Bleu Myosotis may have have been a bit lighter than it started, but it may also have been a suggestion.
After three days, however, some results started to show, with the most fugitive inks starting to be visibly changed, becoming either paler or in some case duller.
And the full week showed more of that, with a few more inks starting to show visible change.
These are the inks I’ve tested, and here I’ll add notes on the results, as soon as they will be available, keeping this section updated.
When nothing is mentioned, it means that there were no changes, either under the light or under the various liquids. Lamy Sepia Not resistant to water, the drop becomes an uniform colour spot.

two nights ago I woke up with the idea that once in a while The Magic calls a very powerful muggleborn to become a pureblood, a sort of first of their name situation; after the call this requires a ritual that requires also a pureblood and results in the two being married.
After the war the Magic calls Hermione, Lucius Malfoy finds out about it, kidnaps Hermione, brings her to the Malfoy sacred grove or something. Draco has been summoned there, arrives, realizes what's happening, tries to run away, gets full-body-bound too, and the ritual is performed.
They find themselves warded in a very newlywed themed wing of Malfoy Manor, with the ability to have visitors, and to receive most of what they want through the house elf (including books from the Malfoy library), but unable to leave, they start cooperating to find a way to undo the ritual.
Narcissa didn't know anything, and allies with them.
For some reason, both Draco and Narcissa's first though is that Hermione should have had the chance to marry Neville, since he's suitably pureblood and a friend. Nobody considers Ron worthy of Hermione :D

Gustavino Bevilacqua @Ju i locali dove siamo noi adesso non sono cat safe (troppo materiale craftoso appuntito in giro), quindi è in un altro locale, e da fuori dalla porta sembrava abbastanza tranquillo. fino a che non ci ha visti arrivare per andare a dargli un'occhiata e ha iniziato a far sapere che la poltrona non è male, ma su quel tavolino manca una cosa FONDAMENTALE (ovvero la ciotola coi croccantini)
E' uno dei motivi per cui limito le attività sartoriali alle riparazioni indispensabili, almeno fin che non riuscirò a liberarmi un locale apposta. Adesso per cucire devo: togliere i gatti dalla stanza, tirar fuori tutto il necessario, cucire intanto che i gatti miagolano oltraggiati fuori dalla porta, rimettere via tutta l'attrezzatura con cura e poi riaprire la stanza.
l'abbiamo trovato seduto sulla poltrona, non particolarmente sconvolto, e si è alzato solo quando ha visto arrivare la ciotola (e non ha mostrato segni di inappetenza, anzi!)
credo che sia tutto sommato non troppo ostile all'idea di passare la notte al chiuso, vedremo come va domattina col non poter uscire, anche se è previsto sole

Il problema è che è un gatto abituato a comunicare a morsi. E alla fine della anestesia, siccome non avevamo ancora capito che era ora di dargli da mangiare, cercava di mordere "con affetto" ad ogni occasione.

al momento preferirebbe altro, ma per quello manca ancora mezz'ora :)
(il problema è che lui vorrebbe avere accesso al locale, ma anche poterne uscire quando ne ha voglia, e quell'opzione è complicata, e non solo per il fatto di installare una porticina (quella sarebbe la parte semplice))
quando siamo scesi era ancora sulla poltrona, la ciotola dei croccantini era vuota, e anche quella dell'acqua (ci avevano detto ieri sera di lasciargliene poca)
è rimasto sulla poltrona a guardarci fino a che non si è aperto l'armadietto dei croccantini, e a quel punto è saltato giù dalla poltrona e salito sul tavolino dei croccantini con la solita prontezza.
missà che ha dormito meglio lui di noi O:-)
ed ora, appena apre il negozio di articoli per animali, si va a procurare della sabbietta, sperando che la usi (visto che è abituato ad andare nel bosco per i bisogni)

Gustavino Bevilacqua @Ju adesso quando entriamo nel locale si aggira facendo il giro delle porte e dicendo “ehi, servitori, qui c'è una situazione inaccettabile” (è lo stesso meow di quando ad esempio la ciotola è vuota, infastidito ma non disperato), ma quando non vede servitori con cui lamentarsi sembra tranquillo
ben dai, mi pare si stia sistemando ❤️. Mi sembra anche ben avviato a diventare *il vostro* gatto, siete dei bravi servitori umani! :D
Riguardo l'acqua, salvo diversa prescrizione veterinaria, gliene servono da 40 a 60 ml per chilo di peso corporeo, può essere presa in parte con il cibo se è umido - le bustine di solito hanno un 60% di acqua, le crocchette invece un 10%.

sono solo i miagolii strazianti mentre guarda le porte che non mi stanno assolutamente facendo venire il magone al pensiero: è che sono uscita ad appendere un avviso per gli altri servitori del quartiere per far sapere che non si è perso, e c'era un po' di aria, mi sarà entrata un po' di polvere negli occhi :D
Il problema con i gatti è che sono assolutamente certi di sapere cosa è meglio per loro, specialmente quando non stanno bene. Spiegargli che le loro certezze non sono la realtà richiede un capitale di pazienza e, ogni tanto, di lasciarli miagolare. Vedila così: se stesse veramente molto male e a disagio probabilmente sarebbe ritirato in un angolo con lo sguardo cupo, il pelo arruffato, zitto e aggressivo. Se gira, miagola e pretende vuol dire che sente di poterselo permettere.
eh...sette son tanti poverino. Potresti provare ad ampliargli lo spazio? O...uhm...fondamentalmente i gatti hanno bisogno di distrazioni continue che li tengano mentalmente impegnati (a parte le 16 ore di sonno al giorno)...provare a insegnargli a giocare è fattibile?
uhm... prova con le palline di carta, per esempio Tuffolo adora i sacchetti di carta appallotolati oppure le carte di caramella o anche un qualche pezzetto di stoffa appeso con uno spago a un bastoncino. Lasciagli anche stracci o gomitoli o cose che possa sbranare se gli viene il nervoso. @GustavinoBevilacqua

la stagnola va benissimo! Basta che non siano incarti di cioccolata o con tracce di cioccolata, che quella sì che fa male ai gatti. (Cioccolata, latte di mucca e cipolle vanno evitati) @GustavinoBevilacqua
e per un gatto con la pelle integra mi risulta che sia particolarmente divertente perché fa anche rumore correndo in giro, ideale per l'esercizio delle :3 di notte :)

nel frattempo ho procacciato il rotolo di stagnola che sapevo di avere (ancora in uno scatolone)
oggi però tra lavoro e appuntamenti (plurale!) dal dentista non riusciamo a dargli l'attenzione che si meriterebbe :(
ma rientrando riproviamo un altro giro di lancio palline di ulteriori materiali
volendo in commercio ci sono anche palline di plastica che si possono riempire di crocchette, poi quando la pallina rotola molla un po' di crocchette. Oppure ci sono i giocattoli con il catnip (che a me non garbano molto) o con la valeriana (la valeriana non fa addormentare i gatti, anzi.) @GustavinoBevilacqua
@GustavinoBevilacqua per il mio sarebbe più inaccettabile stare in casa. Vive ufficialmente con noi ma è un gatto abituato a stare all'aperto. E se non lo facciamo uscire la sua reazione varia da "piangere" a "distruggere tutto"

quando durante il trasloco abbiamo messo sotto il portico un divano che era da dar via o buttare ha deciso che era un posto comodo per dormire, e quando abbiamo dato via il divano l'abbiamo sostituito con una poltroncina con dei cuscini (e d'inverno una coperta a mo' di baldacchino) che è stata apprezzata, per cui ci frequenta quotidianamente, ma non era mai stato in casa
A me piacciono tanto anche mosche, lucertole e uccelli vari. Ma i miei bipedi non apprezzano questa mia passione. Ah, non è male nemmeno il serpente¹ che vive attaccato al vestito vicino alla doccia.

@Tigrillo una volta gli ho portato una tortora in cucina, dopo averla cacciata e seminato piume e penne per corridoi e stanze varie: è stato allora che ho capito quanto poco gradissero.
La gatta Sulsy in gioventù era una grande cacciatrice, ci ha portato ogni sorta di volatili, compresi i pipistrelli, numerosi rettili e topi. I topi li portava ancora un po' vivi e ci chiamava a gran voce per illustrarci come si fa a cacciare e poi mangiare la preda (a partire dal muso, la coda per ultima).
che ha detto che effettivamente la ferita sta guarendo correttamente
ha fatto un altra iniezione di antibiotico
e ha detto che ci vorranno ancora due settimane in casa, e poi dobbiamo riportarlo da vedere, perché è ancora bella aperta, e prima di tornare ad infilarsi nella terra o peggio fare guerra deve prima richiudersi per bene

(anche perché lo so che quando apriremo quella porta sua Grazia correrà subito ad attaccare l'invasore grigio e farsi male di nuovo, e se lo fa senza ferite in guarigione è meglio)
sua Grazia è stato riportato in casa, gli è stata data della carne fresca (cotta al microonde), è riuscito ad evitare strategicamente la pastiglia antizecche che era stata mescolata con la carne, ma vabbé, abbiam deciso di arrischiargli a lasciargliela fuori nella ciotola e sperare in bene.
e quindi abbiamo aperto la porta, è uscito guardingo e annusando, ha annusato i vasi al margine del portico, poi ha annusato la nostra auto (nel caso ci fossero dubbi: ha ribadito che è SUA), e poi sempre annusando in giro è salito verso la catwalk al confine col bosco, è andato avanti e indietro un paio di volte, e poi si è infilato nel bosco
speriamo domattina di trovare avanzini di carne e croccantini finiti (e anche la pastiglia)
abbiamo sentito vocalizzazioni intense provenire dall'esterno, abbiamo aperto la finestra e siamo andati a vedere cosa succedeva
sulla catwalk (che è davanti alla finestra della nostra camera) c'era il gattone grigio che arretrava *molto* lentamente, come se stesse cercando di non far notare la sua esistenza, e il Marchese che gli ringhiava contro.
Speriamo che risolvano le dispute territoriali vecchie e nuove così, da persone civili, senza arrivare ai morsi :)
probabilmente il grigio s'è un po' allargato durante l'assenza del Marchese e già stava pensando di prendersi il territorio. Se il grigio fa marcia indietro dovrebbe essere un buon segno che si son capiti su chi comanda, ma non si sa mai. @GustavinoBevilacqua @LaVi @Puxi @ALFA @Tigrillo
