The #jeans saga continues.
Yesterday I started to cut the other denim I have bought, the one that is a bit heavier (385 g/m² instead of 355 g/m²) but also has some elastane in it (everything else is cotton, that part was not negotiable), and I decided to cut pieces for two pair of jeans rather than just one, with the two waistband variants (straight, where I add elastic to the sides and back, and shaped).
And now I can work almost assembly-line style on them, and see how long it takes me to finish two pairs.
And then my jeans situation should be fine, and I shouldn't need to make jeans for myself for some time.

Ieri ho cominciato a tagliare l'altro jeans che ho comprato, quello un po' più pesante (385 g/m² anziché 355 g/m²) ma che contiene un po' di elastane (tutto il resto è cotone, su quello non ero disposta a compromessi), e ho deciso di tagliare già i pezi per due paia di jeans, con le due varianti per il cinturino (dritto, in cui aggiungo elastico sui fianchi e sul retro e sagomato).
E adesso ci sto lavorando quasi a catena di montaggio, e son curiosa di vedere quanto tempo ci vorrà per finirne due paia.
E a quel punto la mia situazione jeans dovrebbe essere a posto, e non dovrei più aver bisogno di farmene per un po'.

però *ovviamente* hanno le tasche profonde come quelle dei jeans di @Diego Roversi , non un centimetro meno :D (sono un po' più strette, perché la mia circonferenza fianchi è meno della sua, ma non di molto)

¹ wears would be even better, keeping track of what kind of activities I've done in them. this is not. going. to. happen.

in reply to Elena ``of Valhalla'' • •And today I started sewing and prepared all of the applied pockets (including topstitching a design on them that nobody will ever see because I don't have topstitching thread and used regular black cotton thread on black denim).
Then I started applying the pockets to the fronts, but haven't sewn the actual pockets close yet. Tomorrow.

in reply to Elena ``of Valhalla'' • •Oggi ho iniziato a cucire e preparato tutte le tasche applicate (compreso cucire un disegno sulle tasche posteriori che nessuno vedrà mai perché non ho il filo apposta, ma ho usato normale filo per cucire di cotone, nero, su jeans nero).
Dopodiché ho iniziato ad attaccare le tasche ai davanti, ma non ho ancora cucito la base delle tasche. Domani.

I did the binding on the outer seam allowances of the fronts, to get a head start on it for later (because nothing says basic jeans like fancy couture finishes, right? :D nope, that's me not wanting to bother with the serger :D)
Also, I've found out that I had misplaced a pattern piece and need to cut that too. sigh.

Mi sono portata avanti a rifinire la cucitura esterna dei davanti con lo sbieco, però (niente dice “jeans da tutti i giorni” come una rifinitura sartoriale, giusto? :D in realtà è una rifinitura “sono troppo pigra per avere a che fare con la tagliaecuci” :D )
E mi sono resa conto di essermi persa un pezzo del cartamodello, l'ho ritrovato, e devo ancora tagliarlo. sigh.

in reply to Elena ``of Valhalla'' • •Friday was a bit of a mess, with some failures while binding the raw edges of the backs, so I postponed them and forgot about the jeans for the weekend.
Yesterday I sort of managed to bind the edges (well enough) and I sewed the front and backs together, so that they started to actually look like trousers.
And this morning I've done the hems, attached one of the waistbands (the shaped one: sewing-patterns.trueelena.org/… ) and started the first seam on the other one.
I'm starting to see the end of this project :)

in reply to Elena ``of Valhalla'' • •Venerdì è stata una giornata no, con continui fallimenti nel cercare di rifinire i margini dei dietro con lo sbieco, quindi ho messo tutto da parte e mi son dimenticata dei jeans per tutto il weekend.
Ieri sono bene o male riuscita a rifinire i margini e ho cucito i davanti ai dietro, cominciando ad avere qualcosa a forma di pantalone.
E stamattina ho fatto gli orli, attaccato uno dei cinturini (quello sagomato: sewing-patterns.trueelena.org/… ) e iniziato la prima cucitura dell'altro.
Inizio a vedere la fine :)

On the other pair I need to finish attaching the zipper by hand, make a buttonhole, and attaching the belt loops, which I could have done just after I did the ones on the first pair, but I was starting to be too tired for the sewing machine.
Tomorrow I'll try the shaped waistband ones to see how comfortable they are.

Sull'altro paio devo finire di attaccare la cerniera a mano, fare un occhiello e attaccare i passanti, cosa che avrei potuto fare subito dopo aver attaccato quelli sull'altro paio, ma iniziavo ad essere troppo stanca per la macchina da cucire.
Domani proverò quelli con il cinturino sagomato per vedere se sono comodi.

in reply to Rivikah • •@Rivikah I admit I have also thought in the general direction of that variant. And I do have plenty of fabric leftovers, some of which are somewhat small.
It will have to be postponed a few months because reasons, but if I can't manage to keep track of the actual jeans it may happen.
(wearing them also causes wear on the inner tights that just washing doesn't check for, so keeping tracks of something that includes being worn is probably more accurate. but it would still be better than nothing)

Unknown parent • •@Kermode it's 3 pairs, not 2, and it's extremely likely that I will just grab whatever is on top of the clean laundry pile (unless one of the pairs feels significantly different from the others, since they all have some difference from each other), so I wouldn't be surprised if one pair ends up spending a lot of time at the bottom of said clean laundry pile.
putting away laundry in a neat way as soon as is dry? that requires time! time I could be using for crafting! :D

my camera is a camera, it doesn't connect to the internet (or to the local network), it doesn't support apps: the only way to download pictures from it is to take out the SD card and read it on a computer (or possibly connect the camera to the pc with a cable, but I don't think I've ever done it).
which is why I didn't see the connection with syncthing :)

OTOH, it can run git annex (which is what I use on the pc and elsewhere to sync pictures and other files)
