what if we made a greeting card - a single card - travel the world

idea: every person is given the next recipient in the chain. when they receive the card, they sign it, put it in a new envelope, and send out again to their next recipient

if it gets too beat up, the current holder picks a new card. when it reaches the end of the chain, the last recipient sends it back to the first, who takes a picture to share with all participants.

and then, if we want to, we scramble the list (drop anyone who wants to be dropped, add anyone who wants to be added) and start again with a new card

ya I know I'm starting multiple projects but I'm pretty sure this should be very very very light touch

I do think if this scales (and it has a far better chance of scaling than the #stationeryExchange) we might do multiple rings, but that's still fairly low touch
in reply to lee

oh oh maybe but my adhd kills my ability to mail things! i dont want to be a weak link in the chain
in reply to lee

ayyyyy

I mean re scaling - theoretically any group of people could do it, right, if they had each other's details to share addresses with the next person (a la postcrossing?) and troubleshoot?

in reply to verity, in a pantry near you

yup! I figure it's easier and a bit safer if one person manages all the addresses though, as that's not sharing your address with the whole circle
in reply to lee

agree - minimum requirement is the next person in the chain

this sounds super interesting! i think id quite like to give it a try
