have never had any issue with right clicking on GNOME. Both touchpad buttons, clickpad right buttons and double finger tapping worked out of the box on Fedora 🤷

@Enrico Zini I *am* surprised that your new laptop doesn't come with proper touchpad buttons

and by surprised I mean wait? wasn't it supposed to be The Perfect Laptop For Everybody? Why doesn't it come with a nipple thing + hardware buttons???

(please don't tell me “patents”, because I suspect it's because of patents, and I don't want to live in a world were we can't have nice things because of patents)

@valhalla I don't think it's possible to have a single laptop that's perfect for everybody. For example, I don't want the ThinkPad nipple, and I'm happy without physical touchpad buttons.

(I don't like the keyboard, though. It's a laptop keyboard.)

@Lars Wirzenius @Enrico Zini but this is The Modular One, so it could have a touchpad module with buttons and one without, and nipple or non-nipple options for the keyboards
in reply to Elena ``of Valhalla''

@valhalla I agree it'd be good if someone made a keyboard-and-touchpad module for the Framework that's more like the Thinkpad. AFAIK there is no technical barrier, someone just needs to do it. Also, AFAIK, the Framework company isn't interested in doing that, because market interest in that is low.
in reply to Lars Wirzenius

@Lars Wirzenius @Enrico Zini I'd expected a lot more overlap between the niche of people interested in thinkpad-style laptops and the niche of people interested in the Framework :)
