By the way, I'm flying from Seoul to Brussels tomorrow to attend FOSDEM 2026. It's my first trip to Europe, so I'm both excited and nervous.

I just looked up what kind of plugs they use in Belgium and Germany. Luckily, it looks like they use Type F “Schuko” plugs, the same kind we use in South Korea!

By the way, whenever I'm in the West, my confidence in my English speaking really takes a hit. I have a hard time understanding people if they speak even a little bit fast, and I feel like communication is a struggle because my own accent is so strong. 😩

It was really fun to talk with @liaizon@social.wake.st about so many things like… anarchism and punk in the States, socialism vs. liberalism in Korea, and so on…

Thanks all for listening to my talk about #Fedify at #FOSDEM 2026 today! Here's my deck for the talk: Fedify: Building ActivityPub servers without the pain.

So… the first day of #FOSDEM 2026 was so inspiring, and it really motivated to build more things for #ActivityPub and the #fediverse! Also it was a lot of fun to meet hundreds of kind and smart people!

@洪 民憙 (Hong Minhee) :nonbinary: one thing that probably didn't help is that FOSDEM tends to be full of people whose first language is not English, who communicate in *written* English a lot in their day to day language but have a strong accent influenced by their native language when speaking.

I think it makes said English beautiful, but it's not always helpful in being easy to understand, compared to a more standard accent.
