I've had such a good day so far. So many people in costume and they all look so good. I hope my sewing skills stack up.

Very tired from travelling and walking around Bath already. But I'm looking forward to the festival proper.

@minnfinn well the most important thing that happened today is I found conkers.

Which leads me to wonder, does anyone play conkers outside of the UK?

@minnfinn @NickGates I don't know about your kind but European horse chestnuts are only poisonous if you don't roast them (hence chestnuts roasting on an open fire).

Conkers is a game played at school where you drill a höle in a nut, thread a string through and then take it in turns whacking each others conkers* until one breaks. The person who still has a conker at the end of the day is the champion.

@Just Plain Simple BridgeMakes⚪ @Marje (in Italy) I know of conkers only from a book about exotic games from all around the world

and I live in an area with plenty of horse chestnuts, so it's not the lack of materials
