Will it? The UBNT airfibre gear they use have over 100km range, and the other airmax gear can easily reach 15-20 km

yeah they are, atleast in Sweden. You dont need a license to put up those since it is ordinary WIFI signals

If I understand correctly what they are, there are a few projects like that in EU, I know of #ninux in Italy, #freifunk in Germany and #guifi in Spain
