not just any home owner

home owners with enough space to keep the car(s) somewhere else while the garage was occupied by the startup

That Guy From Norway
i'm in the mildest part of the country that is urban enough to have the synergy effects required for big business.

the problem is that Norway's track record for tech startups is poor, and investors are naturally skeptical of putting money into such enterprises. investors are generally unfamiliar with how tech startups work. the overall interest for entrepreneurship is low. life is comfortable, and no one's hungry for change.

the richest people in the country are either real-estate, fishery or retail tycoons. the most lucrative B2B sectors are oil and maritime.

in such an environment, what you get is brain drain. with a few exceptions, Norwegians who want to work on the cutting edge of tech go to California, or relocate their startups there later on.

there are some exceptions. the Funcom video game studio. the reMarkable e-ink tablet. the Opera browser. it's possible to do, but these companies were founded decades apart.
