Charles ☭ is a Green

@Stoori

(Most) US stamps just have a monetary amount, so a $1 stamp is a $1 stamp, whether purchased last year or 40 years ago.

UK stamps are also often like that except that occasionally they decide that they should just get to keep your money and refuse to honour the stamp. They do the same thing with money sometimes. It is fucking wild.

They also have pay-as-you go electricity meters, although at least these aren't still like, drop in a coin if you'd like to heat your flat today.... Instead, it's take this USB stick to one of three shops in a five k radius and bring cash and then maybe you can heat your flat for however much power usage your cash corresponds to. But you know, recent cash.

@Charles ☭ :trans: is a Green for that kind of money, we can send a letter to *Australia*, and I already complain about it!

(3.35€, £2.90)

(the US would be 2.55€, £2.21), and Europe + Mediterranean countries are 1.35€, £1.17, which is still more than the 1.25€ that the Germans spend to send *anywhere* [insert envy here])
