I just felt a mild, distant 3.2 earthquake while sitting on the toilet.

The toilet moved in a strange, barely perceptible way. It felt like slight, momentary push.

New fear unlocked: major earthquake while on the toilet.

isn't that weird?
I'm in northern Sacramento and one day I was cleaning the bathroom sink - I look over and the water in the toilet bowl started moving around.

It was the Ridgecrest quake...
I personally didn't feel it- the toilet sure did.

This literally happened to me in the 2001 Nisqually earthquake. It’s a uniquely helpless feeling to have a toilet bowl sloshing underneath you while you’re sitting with pants around your ankles.

SewBlue reshared this.

@SewBlue I live in (I hope) non-earthquake country close enough to earthquake country to feel them from afar, so my reactions tend to be more of the “oh, crap, which of my friends is in danger” rather than “run for safety”, but one time I felt a distant but strong-ish one while on the toilet and 100% “new fear unlocked” too!
