Why did we get rid of petticoats? I have on this 1890s prairie dress today and the layers are soooo comfy. Cold out? Put on more. It's like walking around wrapped in a blanket all day.

Also, a nice lightweight but stiff petticoat keeps the skirt away from the legs and helps air circulation for warm days #justSaying
