Just ordered a kilogram of air dry clay.

I want to make things with my hands so I'm going to make tiny little somethings.

I don't know what yet. I have no experience of this. It should be fun though!

it would be great to see the little somethings you make

I once got myself some polymer clay and realised that it retained fingerprints and every little imperfection, so I got some shaping tools. And then I watched some videos and ordered some wire to keep the structure. And then there was a mat to protect the surface of the table. And there could be books on techniques. It can be a slippery slope 😁

@TazPoltorak Ah yes, the beginnings of a new hobby where you acquire *everything* and you're totally obsessed with it for 3 months...

And then 6 years later you open a box and go, oh yeah, I forgot I did that!

That will be me by the summer 😁

I have a studio full of tools and I can't part with them, in case I ever want to practice these things again.

I hope to see what you create. Three months is a long time πŸ™‚

@Paper Moon @Helen I absolutely have no idea what you are talking about!

All of those craft and art supplies are *constantly* in use, or I will use them again *soon*!

(to be fair, I do tend to go back to do stuff I had done in the past, but β€œsoon” is probably not the right word, except from a geological point of view)

@valhalla I periodically feel guilty that I have spent all that money and I am not doing the hobbies. Sometimes I find it useful to just go look through the tools and materials, and that motivates me. With sewing I just go through fabrics and get inspired (but gently).
