I am regular fountain pen user and a proud brass Liliput owner. My only regret of using fountain pens are water based inks. As an avid preservation nerd, I miss oil based inks durability. I never had the chance to test any waterproof ink. Would you like to test the claim for us and wet the written paper?

I put Noodler's Heart of Darkness into my Laban Antique II, <F>. It looked like a <B>! Even the store clerk was surprised. I took it home & put Platinum Carbon Black in it. That actually tamed it. Now it's more like a <M>. 😁

I don't have the platinum carbon black (yet :D ), but you may be interested in this test I made some time ago with drops of water and of bleach (they are all water based inks, but not all of them are fountain pen safe: the ones that resisted bleach and are fountain pen safe are the R&K Sketch Ink and the two Koh-I-Noor Document).

And if you are interested in preservation, this is a lightfastness test, on mostly the same set of inks.

This picture has been taken on 2020-07-09, after two months of being stuck on a south-east facing window.

Wonderful test! Really I appreciate it. I hate Pelikan inks and now I have empirical evidence to back it up. R&K Sketch and Koh-I-Noor Document blue looks like indestructible. I switched from Pelikan to J.Herbin because Pelican was cloging my pen constantly and wrote like water. Have you tried R&K and Koh-I-Noor any length? If they are as good as inks as their chemical properties I may chase them down and buy a bottle (=

I've used extensively both the R&K and the K-I-N with dip pens (that's what I use to write when I'm at my desktop, fountain pens are for portability and very quick notes) and I prefer the K-I-N because the R&K are wetter (that's just a personal taste); I don't think I've ever used the R&K in a fountain pen, but I permanently have the K-I-N in one of my preppys.

The K-I-N is only available in black and blue, the R&K in more colours (but in a somewhat odd range), neither of them has a deep black: the K-I-N is a nice dark gray with good shading (and I've only seen online reviews of the R&K Lotte, but it also looks like a dark gray). If you're interested in a deep black or more colours I would also look at the DeAtramentis Document line: I only have a few samples and I haven't done the full range of tests yet (it's planned for later this spring), but they are fully waterproof and I've read good reports on their lightfastness and I have it in another preppy.

I think that the K-I-N blue has stained my pen: I haven't tried to deep clean it since I'm going to refill it with the same ink anyway (and the pen is in the same colour as the ink :D ); I haven't had clogging or drying issues, but that may also be because I've only used pens that aren't prone to them.

Oh, and here in Europe the K-I-N are pretty cheap (~5 eur / 100 ml), the R&K more expensive (~20 eur / 100 ml) and the Document even more (~40 eur / 100 ml)

It appears I can find some of those inks here in Turkey. DeAtramentis inks are only scented and no much found for K-I-N here. More choices on R&K. They have Doumentus line for permanence and sketch inks that are waterproof and lightfast. They have pigments and for that reason probably for both of them they warn for possible clogs. I hate a clogged pen. I hate to run them through ultrasonic cleaner every time. I will test my J.Herbin and post it in case you like to know.

I think I've only found the K-I-N inks on their own site: it seems that they do ship to Turkey, but shipping is pretty expensive :(

Yeah, all of the inks I've mentioned are pigment based (afaik that's most of the waterproof inks available)
