I thought one simple check was enough: "is it called 'smart'".
Actually, those 3 checks are sensible, it's just that I don't think I've ever heard of a smart device sold anywhere that would collect a yes on all 3 questions, so…
(and even if there was one, I'm not sure it would pass:
* is it full of trivial-to-exploit vulnerabilities that will never be fixed? * is it going to become useless when (not if) the producer will stop supporting it in 6 months - 2 years? )
