Sometimes I need to connect to my workshop network from home, but the IP is dynamic.

Since 9 evenings on 10 I forget to write down the workshop IP before to leave, is there a way to get it from Telegram?

I see in the Telegram "active sessions" the workshop tablet is there, but I don't see any IP :-(

search for "dynamic DNS" - it's a service that lets you run a small client program on a computer or router that updates a nameserver on a regular basis. Used those for many years before getting static IPs.

@Oblomov @rag. Gustavino Bevilacqua some time ago when I was using a dyndns service that at times didn't work I set up a cron job that curled checkip.dyndns.com/ and sent it as an email to my address.

but yeah, these days we're using freedns.afraid.org/ and it works just fine
