Putting an unreasonable quantity of linen things through the wash instead of anything else from Laundry Mountain just so I can have things to iron for an hour of three, so I can focus on this fucking podcast because I apparently cannot unless I have something to do with my hands, and am regrettably sans any hand sewing. 😶

Do you have any fruit that requires destonong, any jam to cook, any seeds or nuts to open up? ;) Or something that needs to be cut into many tiny pieces.
Washing my floor tiles seams is one such task too, but it's labour intensive.

@Triffen Sadly no! I don't even have anything to mend right now. Or rather, the things that need mending also desperately need washing first. There's not even anything I can clean while still hearing and seeing the podcast, because I need to kind of see the closed captions to not have to rewind all the time!

@wokstation Ironing is an essential part of sewing, so the iron and board is always out! But it's also out now, as I'm listening to the eldritch tale of a plant monster subsuming an entire house, riveted, while also coincidentally ironing Everything. 😶

i can offer you the hand sewing task of modifying the pockets of 2 pairs of trousers so the phone doesnt fall out every damn time i sit down.
The fashion war on trouser pockets seems to have reached menswear now.

(Disclaimer: not really offering the task, I'm looking forward to doing it myself, this has just been an opportunity to complain about dumb pocket designs.)

@mavu A good pocket requires either drafting experience or multiple experiments in the best shape... Both things that are easy enough to cut out of the process for cost savings! Although I don't know if we've seen such humongous and slippery phones before. 😅 Some vest pockets would be much better suited for flat objects, like books, but nobody wears vests any more, I guess

i actually almost always wear vest-like jacketpulloverthing (i like to be able to just open the zipper for optimal temperature management :) ) but having a phone in its pocket is annoying, modern phones are just too large and solid to carry in a pocket that can "flap about".

I have to admit It's nice to have a computer in your pocket at all times, but fashion needs to go with the times and offer phone pockets, like the small pockets that evolved in suits to carry pocket watches.
