My local idiots are stock-piling milk now. Shelves are empty.
Stuff that will last like canned evaporated, UHT tetrapak, powdered, coconut milk in cans or tetrapaks... NO. All those shelves are full.
They bought up all the Fresh Milk!
I am Not making this up. You know - Best Before [a week from now]. That stuff.
Maybe they can pour it on all the toilet paper they bought out too and yum it up for breakfast.

The fat separates, and drinking it cold isn't great, but when heated it mixes back in and becomes decent enough.
(or maybe everybody wants to start stress-cheesemaking?)

in reply to Elena ``of Valhalla'' • •Yeah, I had the same experience trying to find a way to freeze milk too. No matter. There's no actual shortage of either tp or milk. Temporary logistics problem. It will all be stocked up again by noon today. They just need to adjust the proportions of what is on the trucks.
UHT is 4X as expensive as fresh here. I don't mind the taste, but prefer fresh anyhow
