For stupid reasons I have a phone made by Google and it gets updates. I only want security updates, really, but usually the user interface also changes. I don't like this.

Phones are computers. Really shitty computers controllled by hostile alien creatures.

(Please don't suggest I switch to a non-Google Android or an iPhone. You don't know enough of my needs to suggest anything.)

I would only change for a Linux phone, that is under my control, but the road is still uncertain, and long….

@Lars Wirzenius I don't know, to me they feel like perfectly reasonable computers controlled by hostile alien creatures who take some effort to make them really shitty to use
