The heck with this new fangled cursive. Kids should be taught to write cuneiform the way God intended. Which God, I don't know.

I would love to learn cuneiform, but it seems of limited utility if I don't have a source of clay tablets, so maybe making tablets should be part of the curriculum as well.

@valhalla I taught myself the Fëanorian script and used the phonetic version to write it in English when I was twelve; it was elegant and attractive but I have lost the knack. Children could do worse!
