A symbolic donation challenge


Since you are reading this post I guess you are directly interested in the improvement of Diaspora*. As you probably know Diaspora* couldn't improve without the hard and enthusiastic work of the developers. That is why

I challenge you to give at least a symbolic €0.01/week amount to the Diaspora* developers


€0.01/week is not much. It just €0.52/year so probably you can easily afford that. I guess you throw away much more to buy some fancy junk you don't even need at all ;-)

Isn't €0.01/week too little?

Yes, it is symbolic, but it is much more than nothing.

Also it can be a lot if most of us are willing to join (especially if some of us are willing to give a bit more).

For example, imagine if just 1% of the currently registered users of the federation have been taking this challenge. That would mean about €65/week for the developers. Just 15% of the users that were active in the past 6 month could give €75/week this way. 70% of the monthly active users could give €105/week for the developers by this "symbolic" donation.

Of course, you are free and encouraged to give more. (I also do so.)

Installing Signal on a Google free phone



I tried to install Singal on my Google free Android phone one year ago and I was shocked when I found out that I had to install Google Play services to use Signal and there was not much info out there how to do it without it.
So now I gave it another try and after almost a whole day I finally did it.
Here is what I did:
I have rooted CyanogenMod 13 on my phone, no Google apps.
- Go to https://microg.org/ (A free-as-in-freedom re-implementation of Google’s proprietary Android user space apps and libraries.)
- Download and install GmsCore.apk, GsfProxy.apk, FakeStore.apk in this order
- Open the microG Settings and tick both checkboxes for background services
- Reboot your device
- Disable Battery Optimization for microG Services Core in System Settings > Battery > Menu > Battery optimization.
- Go to https://www.apkmirror.com and get an old version of Signal - e.g. v3.20 (you won't be able to sign up with the newest version)
- Install Signal and sign up.
- Now if everything works just download the newest version of Signal and install it.

I hope this helps others.

Artoolkit5 + OSC : exploration



bon, j'ai tripatouillé avec #artoolkit5 ces derniers jours, pour voir un peu les possibilités et les limites, tant techniques que physiques ou perceptuelles. J'ai encore quelques test à faire, mais ça semble bien prometteur, la librairie accessible maintenant est vraiment efficace, et portable. (http://artoolkit.org/)
Mon but était de le coupler avec #blender et #pure-data pour utiliser ça comme ajout aux tests VR voir AR, et de voir son potantiel avec #polymorph et #webVR ...
d'abords, j'ai essayé de comprendre comment compiler le plugin de Ashsid, qui fait tout bien mais est préparé pour windows/visualstudio... du coup pas de makefile, et ce que j'ai pu produire est insuffisant... (en gros, un makefile de base/noob listant tout les cpp à compiler et les librairies à importer, mais qui continue à bugger... )

Il y a bien un vieux pugin pure-data/GEM pix_artoolkit dans les téfonds du net pour pd-extended, mais il ne marche pas comme ça, et n'intègre pas le nouveau code de artoolkit5 plus efficient.
du coup j'ai réattaqué à la base artoolkit5 en C, commencé à copier-coller et eut une premier retour en #OSC dans pure-data à partir d'un exemple de base... mais c'est une matrice 4x3 dont je ne sais encore quoi trop faire dans pd.
je dois essayer dans blender... ainsi dans WebVR, comme il y a une portage JS qui marche plutôt bien :D
Et je dois dire que le code que j'ai implémenté est juste idiot, envoit OSC avec liblo en 5 lignes en comptant les includes une fois tout bien configuré pour renvoyer la matrice d'un marker simple... (mais je suis nul en C++ ... )
je me dit que c'est intéressant de faire une appli indépendante, qui envoie les coordonées de markeurs en OSC, et peut servir à plein de choses, tant sur Desktop que sur Portable, pour de la VR (positions, accessoires, repères) ou pour l'AR ( p.ex. musées, voir #wikipedia...), voir #installation, #musique, #videomapping, etc... #artsnumeriques #floss

Pastilda is an open-source hardware #password #manager, designed to manage your credentials in a handy and secure way.
Pastilda works as a #middleman between your #computer and keyboard. It provides easy and safe auto-login to your #OS, bank accounts, mailboxes, corporate #network or social media. Pastilda stores #encrypted passwords in its memory. You can request a particular password at any time by pressing a special key combination on your keyboard.
Pastilda has two USB ports: one for your keyboard, one to connect to your #PC. Your OS will recognize Pastilda as a USB keyboard and a USB flash drive.
The flash drive component stores the encrypted #KeePass 2.x database (.kdbx file) and the KeePass 2.x portable #app as needed. Your real keyboard is now visible only to Pastilda, your PC won’t see it at all.

I am a big fan of the amount of work the diverse community behind LibreOffice puts into it.
If you are interested in what happens "under the hood", have a look at what changed between 5.2 and 5.3. And that's just one version. The increase in code quality of this office suite has been astounding since separating from OpenOffice.

If you are looking for rock-solid stability, maybe hold off a little bit before upgrading to 5.3. I recommend waiting for about 3 bug-fix releases (i.e. until 5.3.3) before moving away from the 5.2 branch.

Mapmap 5.0 : "happy new year"



Mapmap, the free software for video mapping developped by an international collective of artists and developpers from canada, belgium, france, and other, has just reached the 5.0 mark, with a bunch of bugfixes and improvement. Probably the documentation is far behind at some point given the usage opened by the OSC messaging that is hidden in the code comment for now ;) but hopefully this documentation and further development is just to come (and we, as users can contribute to it ...), as this piece of tool is becoming well polished for multiple use, be it video installation, interactive work or live session with musicians.

The final components to form the current mess arrived on the scene in the second part of the 1990s when Microsoft introduced modern networking components to the default setup of their PC system software which came preinstalled on consumer grade computers. This happened at roughly the same time that several office type applications started shipping with their own fairly complete programming environments for macro languages.

opened the old tower laying there (that he was using before the laptop) rescrewed the hardrive (and added a bar of ram magically the same kind, found in a not functioning computer) and restarted the tower ... et voilà ... Quand un jeu vidéo de tir libre entraîne les IAs d'Alphabet ...

"y a pas de jeux libres!"



On répète souvent cette rengaine que "oui mais moi je joue sur mon ordi, alors sur (GNU-)Linux ça ne va pas, y a pas de jeux!"C'est une réalité toute relative, et une déclaration fausse dans l'absolu ( - liste - liste - liste moins libre sans parler des humblebundle et autres émulateur de "tout" ( "- sudo apt-get install mame", etc... ), il y en a moins (la faute à la poule et l'oeuf selon moi... ) mais ils sont là et pour de bon. Et ils sont ouverts, et fonctionnels depuis des années, donc affinés comme de bons fromages.

"FPS 4 AI"



Et voilà que les chercheurs de chez Alphabet (Google) travaillant sur les systèmes "d'Intelligence Artificielle", ou plutôt des systèmes "auto-adaptifs" basés sur des simulation de réseaux de neurone, se sont rendu compte que faire jouer à un FPS (jeu de tir à la 1ere personne), ça permettait de présenter à ces petits cerveaux virtuels des mondes suffisamment complexes pour les sensibiliser et leur apprendre des comportements à choix complexes...
Mais la tache semble tellement énorme qu'ils ouvrent le paquet sur github, en proposant "aux gens" de participer.

Bientôt des bots incollables et "plus qu'humains" dans OpenArena ?



Et du coup, ils choisissent d'utiliser un de ces bon vieux moteur IOQ3 https://ioquake3.org/ éprouvé depuis des lustres, qu'ils interfacent avec un système d'agents déjà préprogrammés, ou "outillés" pour pouvoir se mouvoir dans l'espace virtuel.

On a donc ici un raccourci à portée de main vers les meilleurs bots du monde dans un jeux libre, bien avant tout autre jeu commercial. http://openarena.ws Pour rappel, et avoir la mesure du vertige : DeepMind a battu le champion du monde de GO. On lui donne maintenant des yeux et des membres (déplacement, actions). Les "bots" classiques sont des algorithmes mécanistes totalement primitifs. Entre une horloge mécanique et un ordi-phone/superordinateur-de-poche il y a le même écart de paradigme.

Et on aussi une avancée conséquente dans le modèle de pensée des "robots". Parce qu'en effet, ces "bots" réagissent aux mêmes données qu'un joueur humain : l'image à l'écran (et non plus des senseurs virtuels "artificiels"), ils réagissent donc potentiellement de la même manière avec un flux caméra. Et c'est l'idée : simuler des milliers de bots différents dans un espace virtuel, impossible à faire avec des robots physiques. On les fait donc "rêver". Il "suffit" donc ensuite de relier les commandes de mouvement "virtualisée" (les bots flottent dans l'espace virtuel, se déplacent avec des "réacteurs" abstraits donc) à des circuits eux même entraînés pour s’accommoder de variations locales (aussi des petits réseaux neuronaux ou à boucle de feedback, PID, etc) commandant des actuateurs (moteurs, roues, jambes, bras, etc... ) et on peut (théoriquement) faire sortir le robot de son rêve, lui donner un corps.

dans 10 ans : "Terminator est tu la?" ou "GAFAM's Army" ou "Elysium"?



Il y a plusieurs choses qui sont tout de même à réfléchir ici :
- on entraine des IA dans un FPS, donc d'abord à "shooter" ou à "chercher après des récompenses"... l'éthique commence là déjà, à poser question. - Alphabet/Google a précédement acheté Boston Dynamics, qui fabrique des robots (assez "terrifiants") sur base de contrats avec le Darpa (recherche pour l'armée amériquaine) ... ensuite revendue. Mais peut importe puisque l’entraînement les IA est "open-source" aussi chez les autres 'AFAMS - c'est comme un concours de celui qui met le plus d'outil à disposition ! Alphabet pourra donc racheter (en bourse) l'entreprise qui mettra en oeuvre ceci de manière rentable quand bon lui semble. Ou son concurrent. Une "saine compétition" entre entreprise interdépendantes. L'open source (à défaut du libre) semble devenu une arme compétitive de pointe. - Pas besoin de robot guerrier, juste de robots ouvriers, des "bras à tout faire" p.ex. à 1500€ (actuellement c'est >10k€ et ils sont pas débrouillards puisque "programmés à la main")... ou un "autonome" sur roue, pouvant même faire une course pour vous chez ... chez ... le magasin automatique ... qui ... se fait livrer par un camion automatique qui va se livrer à la serre automatique ...etc... et hop, en 10 ans le travail ouvrier et employé passe à la trappe pour 80% ... c'est dans les cartons de la combinaison de toutes ces entreprises. - ce projet rappelle un peu bizarrement le jeu "America's Army" mis en place gratuitement par l'armée US peu avant la guerre du golfe de 2003 pour recruter les jeunes et entraîner les recrues aux tactiques de combat au sol ... c'est un chapitre à développer en soit. - l’entraînement de ces AI déployées par les GAFAM se fait grace aux données des internautes : c'est en effet grâce à la masse incroyable de données mises à disposition par les utilisateur de leurs services qu'ils "font apprendre" les réseaux neuronaux. quand on pose une question à "ok google", c'est une IA qui vous réponds en s'autoadaptant pour mieux reconnaître votre voix, le sens de la phrase, la meilleure réponse à adopter en fonction de la réaction suivante, etc... Les images mises en ligne apprennent à voir et reconnaître les objets et les visages, Les "likes" sur FB sont autant de validation de modèle dynamique d'analyse de contenu. La quantité de travail/donnée gratuite fournis en retour de ces service est sans commune mesure... et la perte de liberté future (surdétermination) assez grande également (bulle d'information, etc... ) -> la question change de "ai-je quelque chose à cacher?" à "est-ce que je participe à cette modélisation des flux au service de sociétés privées". Modélisation qui permet d'induire des comportement à l'insu des personnes (p.ex. deux personnes "compatible suivant leurs profils de vie" se rencontrent "par hasard" par suggestion du moteur de recherche pour un restaurant... le bénéfice de cette rencontré étant dans les retombées pour la plateforme qui a servi les renseignement, ou ses clients ... p.ex. le restaurant qui fidélise deux "amis" et paye la plateforme pour sa notoriété... etc )
- quand on me dit que le "jeu video n'a rien de politique", je rigole ! :D

"le peril Chinois, 3e épisode"



Et avec "GAFAM", on occulte le continent asiatique, qui bien qu'on le tienne dans notre angle mort, est bien en avance dans ce domaine, si on compte le nombre de robot installés, et le nombre de publication scientifique en rapport avec l'IA.
Les travailleurs chinois seront donc les premiers "libérés", et nous "envahis" par une marchandise irréprochable et "éthique" (si tant est qu'ils développent aussi l'énergie renouvelable).
La question qu'on vient à se poser, c'est : que faire, et pourquoi. Plusieurs données et point d’inflexions sont à poursuivre, quelques ficelles transversales à tirer : logiciel, robotique et #monnaie libre, communs et bien commun, solidarité et reprise de l'autogestion. On se demande comment la chine populaire va réagir à cette robotisation massive, elle qui s'est bougé des campagne pour rejoindre les fabriques. On se demande comment réagiront, enfin, nos contrées de vieille europe, désindustrialisée dont le secteur tertiaire va aussi se faire laminer. (oui ok, y a un bon niveau dans les labos d'IA en France, la frenchtech touça, et les datacenter de Google à Mons... mais ... ça concerne combien de dizaines de personnes?)

"l'apocalypse de l'emploi"



Le "chomâge" va exploser, et subitement les richesse s'hyper concentrer dans les mains des détenteurs d'action, puisque les autres n'auront plus de revenu de leur emploi.
L'analyse de Bernard Stiegler va dans ce sens p.ex., mais manque d'une réflexion importante : la question de la monnaie n'est pas abordée, et est probablement clé dans l'histoire. voir http://trm.creationmonetaire.info En effet, cette apocalypse n'arrive que si l'ensemble des humains participe à cette bulle, et accorde unilatéralement sa confiance dans le système monétaire dominant "actuel" (2016) qui la fera éclater pour un monde #dystopique visualisé dans des films comme "Elysium" ou "Chappie" ... voire surement pire : l'IA aura toute connaissance de votre comportement inconscient quotidien par la surveillance data. pas d’échappatoire, la psychose est totale. (on a déjà vu retour vers le futur II se réaliser au niveau dystopique cette année ... )

**Apocalypse* , Étymologiquement, le mot « apocalypse » est la transcription d’un terme grec (ἀποκάλυψις / apokálupsis) signifiant « dévoilement » ou, sous un aspect religieux, « révélation »*

d'abord le choc, ce qui vient après ça peut aussi être autre chose qu'une résignation ou une crispation : une réappropriation de la monnaie par des communautés maîtres de leurs outils, redéveloppant et réimplémentant au niveau local un savoir distribué. Une économie GloCale, libre, dans une interconnexion de #réseaux libres s'échangeant des valeurs variables évaluées entre les parties sur base de protocoles communs et d'un respect des humains, présents et à venir. Partageant savoir, #ressources, modèles, #énergie, ... pour le bien de tous. Un beau rêve "bobo" diront certains, qui est pourtant l'utopie à poursuivre comme porte de sortie, même s'il est "trop tard" ...
Ce changement de paradigme nécessite de reconstruire les #communs, la #gouvernance (commons, liquidemocracy, faircoop), la #monnaie (libre et p2p, la #micro-industrie (fab-labs), la distribution (p.ex. inventaire.io ou Gasap/SCooP, ...), etc... sur base de réseaux #maillé ouvert, légitimes (http://perspective-numerique.net/wakka.php?wiki=TroisRegimesDeLegitimitehtml), de courte portées (sans monopole) se relayant sur base de protocoles communs consentis... les outils numérique nous en donnent les moyens !

Et ironiquement,on a énormément à apprendre justement en utilisant ces outils de simulation, pour modéliser des issues possible à la dystopie en vue. Les GAFAM&MonsentoNestleIBMFoxconnAlibabaEtc, aka EVILCorps... ne sont pas la solution dans leur structure hyper-pyramidale, tout comme le stalinisme qui mène à une dictature du prolétariat ne nous intéresse pas. Nous voulons êtres des travailleurs/euses libres, pas des prolétaires enchaîné/es à une hiérarchie cristallisée.
En ces temps de changements globaux, les humains ont besoin d'une structure sociale souple, capable de s'adapter à des flux importants de population et à des changements d'habitude rapides. Le "vieux système" croule de toute part, trop rigide, les extrêmes ont du succès de par ce manque total de souplesse.

de l'éthique du libre pour un radeau vers un beau rivage



Ca semble aussi tomber dans l'oreille de certains partis, jeunes comme le Parti Pirate, ou plus ancien comme Ecolo en Belgique p.ex. mais souvent de manière encore fort brouillonne, et ne percevant pas l'urgence ni les ramification ou l'emballement que tout peut prendre de manière "systémique" (ou sans moyen d'action). Ne parlons pas des partis traditionnels, qui ne semblent bien loins de la réalité dans leur ensemble ( qu'est-ce qu'on fume à l'assemblée ? ha oui, c'est les pots de vin qui pètent ... soyons démago ;) ) Les mouvements citoyens actuellement remontés contres les lois et décisions libérales (lois Travailles! et "Peeters", etc) que ce soit vers la gauche ou la droite ne voient pas non plus la vague venir, ni la perspective d'une économie démocratisée dans la pratique (cad dont les moyens de production et de décision reviennent aux participant/es, travailleurs/euses et citoyen/nes). Les mouvement écologistes commencent seulement à comprendre "le numérique", sont encore loin de l'économie distribuée (ha oui Uber (!) ou laruchequidioui (!!)) et n'ont encore aucune idée de ce problème des IAs. (rem : que Hawkins et Musk dramatisent bizarrement, les dangers sont plus immédiats, dans l’interconnexion de tout ces systèmes)

De mon point de vue : la terre a déjà tremblé, la vague de fond est en marche, et prends de la vitesse. Quand elle sera sur la plage, courir ne servira à rien. Mais on peut la prendre en amont. Un de ces radeaux pour prendre la vague en préparation (liste de course) : http://brain.hackerland.be

"la route est longue, et la voie est libre ..."



Slogan de Framasoft, c'est aussi ce qui ressort d'un atelier de plusieurs jours sur le thème de la résilience à Bruxelles en juin cette année, rassemblant une douzaine de "Changemakers" auquel j'ai participé, et qui suit tout un mouvement (p.Ex. POC21, opensourceecology.org, etc... ). Ce n'est pas une question "morale" comme semble le proférer certain "évangélistes" du libre et que critique Thierry Crouzet à juste titre, mais bien la question éthique au sens spinoziste et pratique du terme : l'ensemble des conséquences du choix du non-libre pousse à préférer tant que possible le libre, même au pris de perte temporaires ou locales d'efficacité.
Pas de totalitarisme mais une indication de choix. Par contre, ça peut servir à découvrir de nouvelles contrées, en utilisant les nouvelles "puissances" pour ouvrir les possibles tout en respectant l'équilibre vital sur terre. Le paysage qui se dessine, entre #permaculture et #micro-industrie #distribuée, avec des robots comme extension des humains et non comme machine de contrôle, est probablement encore trop loin dans l'imaginaire commun, mais pourrait ressembler à un petit paradis, pour tous. Et même si le changement met du temps, il ne faut pas renoncer à prendre la route. La question du libre qui sert actuellement à la fois à la construction de cette dystopie et permettrait d'en sortir est simple : il s'agit d'un "pharmacon" : un poison ou un remède, en fonction de l'usage. A nous collectivement de nous saisir de ces outils pour ne pas qu'on nous en impose leur usage.

#element6 I will probably reuse some parts from the sound engine I made for this installation : Dark Mattr, commissionned by Tom Heene. It used a database of words with relationship, that we queried to web tags to get #CC licenced files from Flikker and Freesound archive. working with Ptr_ (IR cam openCV, database and system) and Lionel Maes (processing gfx), I did the whole sound engine in #pure-data, with ambisonic spacialisation of the samples (up to 50)... This installation was shown a few times, then completely reworked (from scratch) by RYBN without images and with a speech synthesis (... from apple... ), so it doesn't exist anymore. (rem : odd choice of words that make the sound trip quite unpleasant, as it should ;) ) (rem2 : no citation of authors, so unimportant ... we have restarted to work with Thomas Turine on a VR/Dome audio-visual project, and we were first working on the connection between the sound and the visuals. the works is far from done and we will probably change lot of it along the path, but we had some first version working with a MAX/Msp patch last week, and I have now a pure-data patch that can spacialize objects with ambisonics, either with many baffles, or with binaural and headset. It is perfect for our use both in a video dome and in VR HMD...
the patch is here (img) now limited to 20 "notes" that work like midi notes when colliding (sending note, velocity and position rel to camera) (the little white cubes here have each a note and sound when hit) but it's just a matter of copy paste and expending the set, it looks quite light on this machine, and could be even distributed among pd~ processes. The thing that limit the system actually seems more the OSC in blender that takes too much computer time, I'll probably have to pass by a big dictionnary rather than individual OSC sends. the physics is also light and can take a lot of primitives... it's fun.

Open Source and Free Software initial promises were to empower individuals
when it came to computing. Three decades later, computing is almost always
connected to the Internet one way or another. PCs are less and less used
while smartphones are soaring and data is collected and stored on servers
on which we have very limited control as users. What happened to our
freedom and empowerment in the meantime? The outlook is not so great: we
have less and less control over our digital environment. Network Neutrality is in danger and most code we use is proprietary and
runs on servers we don't have control over.

Fortunately, FOSDEM 2017 will host a "Decentralised Internet" devroom \o/ We invite projects/individual working around these issues/topics to submit proposals according to this schedule:

my Blender Conference : presenting LibreHeadView and other projects



So here is a little feedback from my experience at the Blender Conference this year.

I went to present some of my work that these last 10 years has used the blender game engine quite extensively, and helped to develop it a bit along the line. This journey arrive now at a point where it produce the release of a method for avatar/point of vue locomotion in a VR environment that has a number of advantages over what's in the market now. https://www.blender.org/conference/2016/presentations/268

I went there by train (really smooth for going, delays and detours for the return... ) what I would recommend, as the city is really not car friendly (hope it comes to this to Bxl)... and with a group of people I work with we had rooms nearby De Balie, so it was quite cosy.

I spent half my time in conference rooms, and half of it meeting people and having very interesting conversations. Actually it felt too short and too dense, like if it lacked another 3rd conf room and more discussion place.

I also lost a lot of time in my hotel room, trying to configure an NVidia/Optimus laptop with the Oculus DK2 for the sunday to make a demo of the VR system. While finally all did fit in place but in another order that I expected :
while I couldn't use the laptop that some generous people had lent me for the demo (related to that Nidia driver problem) I hopefully had it for the presentation, as my old thinkpad had no HDMI ...
There is unfortunatelly (still?) no video of the presentation online, I'll see to publish the slides (need to correct some typos, ...) And the LibreHeadView locomotion concept is released here, with soon a demo scene for blender :

or http://f-lat.org/videos/libreheadview-demo01.mp4 For the demo, I ended up using a desktop computer, that was there setup to demonstrate a screen (curved galore), that was left with no use at that time... so very thanks to the Blender Conference Team for that opportunity !
I then could demonstrate a couple of scenes, one "tutorial" scene with a minimalist tron-like grid, and the visit of the gallery with Romain Simon's paintings and examples of my furniture designs. (like in the video of LibreHeadView )

I packed all up and took the train back end of afternoon, with a good fatigue but taste for more...

Anyway, it was really inspiring to be in that context to understand and feel a little bit more the ambiance of that "community" that is very unique I think, as it reunite free software developers and a big community of artists and producers that is very strong. The organic nature of the network of people and financial fluxes supporting this software is really amazing, and probably very resilient as I see it. The only point of failure I see for now is, like for other projects driven by a "personality" the importance of Ton in all this... but probably this can also be resolved when the time is coming.

I have probably a lot of other things to say and think about, (and probably some critiques too at certain points ... ;) ) but this was definitively a rich experience...

trAInsported - a game that teaches you programming





Just stumbled upon this game, where the aim is to program a simple AI to control trains to finish different levels as quickly and efficiently as possible. You write the AI using the Lua programming language. A simple interactive tutorial get's you started and teaches you the basics of Lua and how the game works. You can make different AI's compete on a given track, and you can even upload your AI's to their website and have it compete with AI's others have uploaded. (Or you can run your own server and have your friends upload AI's to compete!)

Looks like quite a neat way to learn the basics of programming if you have a child that shows some interest in this direction.

The game is released under the wtfpl.

OSC-Omxplayer : an OSC remote controlled video player with #RaspberryPi



written in #python, it's a minimalist but efficient "video player" controlled by OSC through the network. The idea is to let a number of player displaying a #video loop being controlled for a dynamic scenography through an #OSC network controller. It also feature the control of a #servo motor on a GPIO pin, used to blacken video projectors.
there is a #puredata patch as an example controller for 3 players. (it works with the first Raspi I too ... so useful to recycle all those once-used raspi lying around !! )

it's finally very short, and minimalist in code and functionality, ( it took a little time to simplify it) and l like it as simple tool, hackable and reusable... KISS ;p

working on a #raspberrypi project for an artist in residency in Halles de Schaerbeek, as #embeded video players with projectors and a physical shutter with a servo motor on GPIO (to blaken the space when not showing images)...
I just lost some long hours figure out why my #python #OSC server was not getting datas... (went to even netcat the trafic that was incoming... was all good... ) to remember that I just don't have to specify the adress to listen to in the server def, or it restrict the inbound connection to that adress (of course) ! ... now it's working :D

at start, the work looks "easy" (as in "I already seen things like this on the internetz done by random kids") but when you start to try to connect it all, you quickly get lost between all the old info and not-so-well-documented libs, with most of them scattered on github...
