I am on a train in Switzerland, operated by a Swiss company, that has not been in Germany, that is running 5 minutes late.

oh gods, what a horrible omen.

Seek shelter immediately. Armageddon is nigh.

probably a car blocking a level crossing, they don't plow through those, out of courtesy 😁

Switzerland! The country of everything running on time! What has the world come to?

Let's be glad it's not Japan. If the train is 5 minutes late there, I'm pretty sure we're in the end times.

@RandamuMaki Our train was 4 hours late (Kyoto-Tokyo).
Granted, a tornado went over the tracks, but still, quite a delay for Japan!
in reply to Peter Van Eynde

Let's be glad tornados are a rarity in Europe. The Swiss don't have that as an excuse.

And, since I just realised I used the same starting sentence there. Let's just be glad. Let's look at the positive side of things. Let's share some love for life and everything we experience while we are alive, both good and bad. Let's share the joy.

But they'll make up the 5 minutes by the time they get to the destination, right? … Right?
in reply to Feòrag

To be fair to them, the Liestal to Basel connection tonight was a bit swamped, and any train times listed were a bit aspirational. It's not something that happens more than once a year and we were lucky to get on that first train we tried
in reply to Feòrag

they forgot to inoculate it, probably met a train that had been careless with a DB train, you know how they are
