I got this mail in my inbox:

You’ve been removed as a collaborator on privacytoolsIO’s repositories because you don’t have two-factor authentication on your user account. The privacytoolsIO organization requires all affiliated users to have two-factor authentication enabled.

Really I have to give my phone number to GitHub???

Ouch, I thought that you could also use an USB security token, but apparently they only support it if you have also enabled 2FA with a phone number :(

AFAIK gitlab does allow using just a token.
